- Graduate in Medicine and Surgery at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, he specialised in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge.
- Doctorate in Medicine Cum Laude at Universitat de Barcelona, her doctoral thesis is on diabetes and obesity.
Trajectory
From 1987 to 2022, he practised as a clinician at Hospital Universitari Doctor Josep Trueta in Girona, where he is currently Head of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Department.
Teaching activity
- First director of t’institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Girona, where he is currently an emeritus researcher. He is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Girona and the Higher Polytechnic School of Universitat de Girona, and is a leading figure in research and dissemination. He has published over 300 articles and has received Premi a la Trajectòria Investigadora de l’Institut Català de la Salut.
- President of Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques a Girona and member of the National Commission for the specialty, is member of the Scientific Committee of Fundació La Marató and of various advisory groups and expert committees of Generalitat and Spain.
