Nephrology and Dialysis Department at Clínica Girona: We care for your kidney health
The Nephrology and Dialysis Department at Clínica Girona was established in 1972 with two patients. Since then, the Department has continued to grow and currently serves over 180 patients.
The Service has been equipped with modern machinery To provide high-quality dialysis, in addition to the recent online technique that will be applied to patients. The Nephrology and Haemodialysis Service at Clínica Girona has FRESENIUS machines that offer an added guarantee of quality to the treatment.
We have our own vascular surgery department to perform all kinds of vascular access. At the Clinic, we can perform Continuous haemodiafiltration treatments as patients in the intensive care unit.

Holiday dialysis
During your holiday, you can safely and confidently continue your usual dialysis treatment at the Dialysis Service of Clínica Girona..
The city of Girona is located about 30 kilometres from the Costa Brava (Platja d’Aro, Palamós, Calella de Palafrugell, Lloret, Blanes, etc…). For more information on how to get there, please consult our section Situation.
The Dialysis Service has FRESENIUS 4008 and 5008 machines which offer an added quality guarantee to the treatment. We have a service of Vascular Surgery to perform all types of vascular access.
Within the clinic we can perform haemodiafiltration as patients of the Intensive Care Unit.
If you are coming on holiday to any location in the Girona region, you can make a dialysis treatment reservation with the Nephrology and Haemodialysis Service at the Clinic on this same webpage via Treatment request form.
It is necessary for you to come with the hospital reservation made from your country (the dates and number of sessions you are to receive must be specified).
Outpatient service
- Placement of temporary and/or permanent central venous catheters for haemodialysis.
- Haemodialysis for acute and chronic patients.
- Haemodialysis, haemofiltration and haemodiafiltration in ICU.
- Plasmapheresis in therapeutics.
- The practice of native and/or prosthetic vascular access carried out by a vascular surgeon.
- Haemodialysis for displaced patients (by prior arrangement).
- Isolated haemodialysis room for patients with Hepatitis C virus.
