Dr Meléndez has dedicated a large part of his professional career to the Gynaecology and Obstetrics department, where care during pregnancy and childbirth, respecting the patient's wishes, has always been a priority. He has always passed on this mindset to his private practice, where pregnant patients have felt their preferences respected and have been able to opt for the type of childbirth they wanted, as long as medical conditions allowed.

Doctor Joan Meléndez Rusiñol graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1980 at Faculty of Medicine of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Unitat Docent Vall d’Hebron.. There he also completed the specialty of Gynecology and Obstetrics (MIR) from 1981 to 1984.

Always seeking to stay up to date, Dr Meléndez has undertaken several stays and courses both nationally and abroad (France, Italy, etc.), aiming to learn the best and most advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques in order to provide a first-class service to his patients.

Trajectory

Between 1989 and 1992, he served as Medical Director of the Hospital, a role he combined with that of Head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department, a position he has held until the present day.
