Dr. Xavier Planellas Gelis is specialist in General and Digestive Surgery. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of abdominal pathologies, hernias, gallbladder, colon, rectum and other diseases of the digestive system.

  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery at Universitat de Barcelona, 1972-1977.
  • Specialist in General and Digestive System Surgery by the Faculty of Medicine of Bilbao. Universidad del País Vasco (issued in Madrid on 27 May 1982).
  • Specialised Healthcare Training as an Intern Resident Doctor in General Surgery and Digestive System Surgery at Hospital Provincial de Guipúzcoa, San Sebastián, in the first cohort of the National MIR Competitive Examination. 1978-1982.
  • Assistant Surgeon Generall for competitive examination of merits. Figueres, Girona (1982).
  • Associate Doctor of General Surgery, Hospital de Figueres (Centre Hospitalari de l'Alt Empordà) 1984-85 and resigned due to incompatibility with the Social Security position.
  • Competition for transfer to Girona as an assistant doctor in 1986.
