Dr Josep Brugada Terradellas is an internationally renowned cardiologist. Specialising in arrhythmias and electrophysiology, he is, along with his brothers Pedro and Ramon, the co-discoverer of Brugada Syndrome (1992), a genetic disorder that can cause sudden cardiac death.

Dr. María Emilce Trucco Vernetti is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Clínica Girona and coordinator of the Arrhythmia and Cardiac Pacing Unit at Hospital Doctor Josep Trueta and at Clínica Quirón Palma Planas i Rotger in Mallorca. She is a researcher at Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Girona (IDIBGI) and an associate professor at Univesitat de Girona. She is Secretary of Societat Catalana de Cardiologia.
