Dr Anna Plujà Castellano is a doctor trained in Girona and Barcelona with a career focused on Gynaecological Oncology. After years working in Gynaecological Radiation Oncology, she has deepened her knowledge in laser medicine as a tool for tissue regeneration. She currently promotes a specialised clinic in vaginal health and gynaecological CO₂ laser. Her goal is to offer a state-of-the-art technique to improve symptoms that many women suffer in silence and that should never have been considered “normal”.

  • Degree in Medicine at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2017), with a Final Degree Project focused on cervical cancer, and a full rotation in Gynaecology at Institut Dexeus in Barcelona.
  • Specialised training as a Consultant Oncologist in Radiotherapy at Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta in Girona (2018–2022).
  • International Rotation in Gynaecological Brachytherapy and Interventional Oncology at the Radiotherapy Department Erlangen (Germany), with Prof. Vratislav Strnad, by MIR Scholarship from Col·legi Oficial de Metges de Girona (2021).
  • Master's Degree in Advanced Medical Skills – Interdisciplinary Oncology at Universitat de Barcelona (2023).
  • Master's in Laser Medicine and Energy-Based Devices with specific training in gynaecological CO₂ laser (UDIMA, 2024).
  • Consultant in Radiotherapy Oncology atInstitut Català d'Oncologia (ICO Girona) since 2022, with a primary focus on the Gynaecological Tumours Unit.
  • Eight years of continuous experience at the ICO (as a resident and fellow), with active collaboration in breast and thoracic tumours and in the assessment of hospitalised patients.
  • Development of clinical and research interest in SBRT and oligometastatic disease, particularly in gynaecological pathology, with the development of prospective protocols.
  • In recent years, a progressive orientation of the professional path towards comprehensive vaginal health and gynaecological laser medicine, with a highly specialised medical consultation in CO₂ laser to treat symptoms derived from changes in vulvar and vaginal tissue (due to ageing, hormonal changes, medical or surgical treatments, and in cancer survivors).
  • Present at specialised gynaecological oncology symposia and congresses, highlighting:

    • II Gynecological Tumour Conference (ICO, 2024): local treatment with SBRT in oligometastatic disease.
    • IV Scientific Conference of the Functional Unit of Gynecological Oncology of Girona (2023).
    • Active participation in national and international congresses (ESGO, SEOR, ESMO), with multiple scientific communications on gynaecological tumours, SBRT and radiotherapy.
  • Sociedad Española de Ginecología Estética, Regenerativa y Funcional (SEGERF) from 2025.

  • European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) from 2025.

  • European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) since 2024.
