The Pharmacy Department team at Clínica Girona (pictured), with the participation of the Emergency Services and Nephrology and Dialysis Services of the Clinic, will present two multidisciplinary posters at the 66th Congress of the Spanish Society of Hospital Pharmacy (SEFH), which will be held virtually from 18-21 October 2021.

“Incidence of adverse effects in centre healthcare professionals vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2”, signed by: Núria Pi Sala, Elvira Ramió Montero, Narcís Feliu Busquets, Mar Viñolas Cuadros, Andrea Casanovas Quiñones and Sara Oduber Martorell.
This is a study that was carried out using surveys, in order to conduct comprehensive pharmacovigilance monitoring in response to the exceptional situation of mass vaccination in healthcare professionals for the new COVID-19 vaccines.
“Study of the efficacy of Etelcalcetide in haemodialysis patients and comparison with Cinacalcet, Signed by: Elvira Ramió Montero, Carlota Pérez de Juan and Dr. Josep Maria Bronsoms Artero, Head of the Nephrology and Dialysis Service at Clínica Girona.
The study was carried out following the market launch of the first parenteral administration calcimimetic, and its efficacy was to be determined in patients treated at Clínica Girona with secondary hyperparathyroidism, as well as to compare its efficacy with that in patients previously treated with the oral alternative.

A virtual conference with some “live” sessions from Galicia
The Spanish Society of Hospital Pharmacy (SEFH) will hold its 66th National Congress from October 18th to 21st, where it will address issues such as the role of these professionals, digitalisation, and pharmaceutical prescription. This year, it has also adapted to an online format, as was done last year due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
The President of the SEFH, Olga Delgado, and Belén Padró, delegate in Galicia, have presented the content of this congress which, due to the pandemic context, it was decided to hold it virtually, although with some “live” activities from this autonomous community.
The year of the “FARO”: Pharmacy, Adaptation, Results and Opportunities
This year's congress is being held under the theme “FARO: Pharmacy, Adaptation, Results and Opportunities,” and participants will include María Jesús Lamas, director of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices, and Rafael Bengoa, an international advisor on health reforms, as well as professors, professionals from different specialities, and institutional representatives.
According to Betlem Padró's detailed account, there will be 208 speakers over four days, in addition to round tables and workshops, along with meetings via Twitter, among other proposals. The strategic management of pharmaceutical care or the involvement of the patient in health outcomes will be some of the topics addressed at a congress that will also be attended by the presidents of the Spanish, European, and American Societies of Hospital Pharmacy.
