According to the latest PLAENSA survey results, published by the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut) and reflecting the opinions of citizens who have used healthcare services, Clínica Girona stands out as the best-rated facility for Day Case Surgery in the Girona health region, and the second best-rated in all of Catalonia, after Sant Rafael Hospital in Barcelona.

In the Girona region, according to the aforementioned satisfaction survey, Clínica Girona's Day Surgery department achieved an overall satisfaction score of 9.13, making it the only centre to surpass the excellence mark of 9, and significantly higher than the Catalan average of 8.56. The second highest-rated centre for Day Surgery in Girona is Palamós Hospital, with 8.89, and the third is Sant Jaume de Olot Hospital with 8.77.

The Day Surgery Ward at Clínica Girona is the most highly rated by the citizens of the Girona health region and the second best in all of Catalonia.

Spectacular figures

Clínica Girona's Day Surgery Unit is touching excellence and surpasses the rest of the hospitals in the Girona health region in 10 out of the 25 questions posed by the survey. Specifically, Clínica Girona's Day Surgery Unit obtains the best scores from the public for the following aspects: For explanations on how the Day Surgery Unit works (98.7%); for punctuality entering the operating theatre (96.3%); for the personal treatment by the nurses (100%); for not feeling pain during the procedure (98.8%); for the time in observation before going home (97.4%); for information on how the procedure went (96.2%); for the Attention received when calling (100%); for the degree of improvement the procedure has brought (89.6%); for the overall degree of satisfaction (9.13) and to the question of whether they would continue to come, respondents answer that they would return to Clínica Girona in 97.5%of cases.

In 2017, Clínica Girona performed 1,762 caesarean sections out of a total of 14,783 surgical procedures.

The degree of satisfaction of patients who have undergone day surgery services in public or affiliated hospitals across Catalonia is 8.6, and 92%% would choose the same hospital again. In general, the most highly rated aspect is the care received from nursing staff and the care received during pre-operative tests, while the worst rated aspect is the waiting time until the intervention.

Surveys

The Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), in collaboration with the Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió (CEO), has published the results of the latest Catalan Health Barometer. These studies include the results of the PLAENSA surveys, which gather the opinions of citizens who have used health services in order to assess their quality and users' satisfaction levels. The surveys, conducted between October 9th and 31st, reflect the opinions of approximately 200,000 people and focus on day surgery.
