Clínica Girona celebrated Nursing Day with a “light bath”

A light show was Clínica Girona's proposal this year to celebrate Nurses' Day outdoors, on Tuesday 11th May, from 9:30 PM to 11 PM. The company Sona, specialising in technical audiovisual management, prepared a spectacular light and sound show, with sound projection of a short manifesto every 10 minutes, to celebrate a different Nurses' Day, taking advantage of the easing of time restrictions.

Pau Ferrer, from the company Sona, manifested before the show: “We will bathe the Clinic's facade in colours with LED lighting, adding different moving shapes and figures, which will give a more dynamic and active touch to the performance, to celebrate Nursing Day. An emotive voice will also be heard, recalling the past, present, and future of Clínica Girona from its beginnings to the construction of the new centre on Carretera de Barcelona.”.

Sona is a company dedicated to audiovisual services, a leader in the sector with over 15 years of professional experience, boasting a qualified technical and human team that pays attention to every small detail.

Plaça Miquel Santaló, situated directly opposite the Clinic's main facade, was the perfect amphitheatre to view the spectacular outdoor show, allowing attendees to be swept away by an experience of light and sound that certainly left no one indifferent.

Nursing Days since 2010

Clínica Girona has been celebrating Nursing Day with activities since 2010, when a photography and painting competition was held around the figure of Florence Nightingale, regarded as the mother of modern nursing. In 2011, an internal session was held to collect anecdotes under the slogan “Rediscovering the Services of Clínica Girona” In 2012 a solidarity day was organised with multiple activities, among which a gospel choir performance in Plaça Santaló stood out, and in 2013 a flower competition was held, coinciding with the city of Girona's “Temps de flors” exhibition. In 2014 the competition focused on works made from recycled materials. In 2015 a competition for “auques” was held, in 2016 a selfie competition, and in 2017 a paper-folding competition, featuring works of paper. In 2018, a film poster competition was held and in 2019, under the theme 'Naturally', an exhibition of artworks made from natural objects was held. Last year, 2020, the year of the pandemic, the #COVID19 took centre stage with an emotional photographic collection of the impact the first wave had on the Girona Clinic.
