12th May is International Nurses Day.
Clínica Girona celebrates International Nurses Day with a photo collage about the frontline fight against Covid-19. This year, 2020, declared by the WHO as the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, has been marked by the emergence of the coronavirus Sars-CoV-2, which has completely upended our lives. In the Administration Area, in the office section, on the ground floor, a collage has been installed, a mosaic of photographs capturing some of the moments experienced in the frontline fight against Covid-19.
The images have been captured by the staff themselves and by the Girona Clinic's Communication Service. Three external images are also being incorporated for this exhibition: A photograph by the photographer David ApariciSee a nurse overcome with emotion on St. George's Day, as healthcare professionals at Clínica Girona received tribute from the Health Transport Service, Firefighters, and Mossos d'Esquadra, at the centre's entrance; another from photojournalist Martí Navarro, on Saint George's Day itself; and a drawing by the popular street artist Banksy, ... and even an action figure of a nurse like a superheroine, while the Batman and Spiderman figurines are left in the bin.

Nursing Days since 2010
Clínica Girona has been celebrating Nursing Day with activities since 2010, when a photography and painting competition was held around the figure of Florence Nightingale. In 2011, an internal session to collect anecdotes was held under the slogan “Rediscovering the Services of Clínica Girona”.
In 2012, a charity event was organised with multiple activities, among which a gospel singing performance in Plaça Santaló stood out, and in 2013, a flower competition was arranged, coinciding with the city of Girona's “Temps de flors” exhibition.
In 2014, the competition focused on works made from recycled materials. In 2015, a ”auques“ competition was held, in 2016 a selfie competition, and in 2017 a paper-folding (origami) competition, works of paper. In 2018, a film poster competition was held and last year, in 2019, under the slogan ”Naturally", an exhibition of artworks made with natural objects was held.
