One year after the inauguration of the new Clínica Girona building, the Magnetic Resonance Service is incorporating new artificial intelligence technology into its equipment. This new technology, in addition to improving the patient care experience by halving the time of the magnetic resonance scan, provides significant improvements in image quality and features state-of-the-art techniques and tools for post-processing and analysis of results.
The image generation system is based on an artificial intelligence algorithm. Image enhancement is applied in all studies, from the brain, joints, and abdomen-pelvis. This technology allows images to be obtained in half the time, improves image sharpness, and offers an increase in quality, especially by enabling more precise visualisation of small structures, particularly in the brain.
Clínica Girona is a pioneering centre in incorporating this artificial intelligence technology into MRI scans at a national level, currently being a centre of reference for providing tuition and experience with this new technology to other centres wishing to incorporate it in the future.
